Taking Process Water Treatment to the Next Level in Pulp & Paper

Mellifiq has signed another contract to start the design of a full scale process wastewater treatment plant to reduce nutrients and dissolved organics for one of Sweden’s most prominent pulp & paper plants and manufacturer of household paper and tissue products. The project is projected to span several months of piloting and design engineering, comprising a full process, state-of-the-art cleantech solution.

Applying the Mellifiq practice of optimizing energy use, minimizing chemical use and installed footprint, the process treatment system will undergo several design optimization steps by applying a multi-tech approach to target specific compounds and categories of process water constituents. This includes world’s most advanced sealed reactor electro-coagulation (SRE), advanced oxidation, and separation units.

The design process will enable capacity increase at the plant and position our customer as one of the most environmentally conscious actors in the pulp & paper industry.
