Mellifiq Improves Fish Health with Ozone Skimmers in RAS Facility

Mellifiq has successfully commissioned a fully chemical-free water treatment system at a recirculating aquaculture (RAS) facility operated by the Åland Provincial Government in Finland.

The solution combines the Ozonetech RENA Pro system with high-performance protein skimmers, forming a robust multi-stage process that removes dissolved organic matter, reduces nutrient loads, and improves oxygenation. The system enhances water quality and fish health—without the need for antibiotics or biocides.

The facility now benefits from lower mortality rates, improved water clarity, and full compliance with EU discharge targets for phosphorus and nitrogen. The low-maintenance design ensures stable, long-term operation.
