Global company removes excess ozone with Ozonetech ozone destructors from Mellifiq
Introduction.
In this case, our client is a French transnational company and one of the largest environmental service providers in the world; it has more than 2,500 subsidiaries in all the regions of the world. The company primarily deals with three main business areas: water management, waste management, and energy services.
It employs more than 200 000 people, and its total revenue in 2022 was about €42,000 million.
The problem.
More specifically, in this case, it was the UK subsidiary that was in need of a solution regarding excess ozone.
They were looking for a way to remove excess ozone in one of their treatment facilities. Due to regulations and official guidelines, exposure to ozone in work environments must be reduced as much as possible; ozone can cause damage to the respiratory tract, which can result in inflammations, coughing, chest tightness and worsening of e.g. asthma symptoms.
Destroying ozone off-gas is therefore highly recommended to make sure your employees stay safe and healthy.
The solution.
In order to address this issue, the company contacted Mellifiq and ordered an Ozonetech OD-5000 ozone destructor, with a capacity of treating gas flows of up to 830 l/min and ozone concentrations of up to 300 g/m3.
Ozone destructors are a vital part of the Mellifiq product portfolio, more specifically of our Ozonetech brand. We offer complete ozone destructors, for both air and water, delivered with fittings, connections and catalytic material.
Our ozone destructors rapidly convert ozone into oxygen without emitting carbon dioxide or toxic gases such as carbon monoxide. Ozonetech ozone destructors are made of stainless steel and can guarantee a maximum of 0.1 ppm ozone off-gas, regardless of the ingoing ozone concentration. If we are dealing with situations where the ozone flow rates are especially high, we can also design a tailored ozone destruction solution that will take care of the problem.
Evaluation.
With this effective solution, the company can carry out their day-to-day processes without additional concern for the employees’ exposure to ozone off-gas.
