Multi-Million Dollar EPC Contract for Treating 640m3/h of Wastewater

Mellifiq is proud to announce the signing of a multi-million dollar contract with a Pulp Mill for the installation of a groundbreaking wastewater treatment system. Designed to treat an impressive 640m3/h of wastewater, this system represents the largest electrocoagulation unit ever constructed in Europe, set to revolutionize standards in the pulp industry.

Mellifiq will enable the pulp mill to meet the EU’s stringent BAT regulation for phosphorus and suspended solids emissions, showcasing our commitment to delivering sustainable environmental solutions. This advanced system, which does not require the use of chemical flocculants, will also dramatically reduce the production of waste sludge, supporting ongoing sustainability initiatives by the mill.

This contract not only solidifies Mellifiq’s position as a leader in the treatment of complex industrial wastewaters but also opens up significant opportunities for us in the forestry sector,”. says Behrang Gilanpour, CTO of Mellifiq. “We have multiple customers who were eagerly awaiting the outcome of this order, and we have lined up introductory meetings starting next Monday, which will pave the way for more such transformative projects.”

The installation is scheduled to already commence operations during 2025, setting new benchmarks in water treatment technology. The pulp mill, will strongly benefit from enhanced production capabilities and environmental performance, further underlining Mellifiq’s role in advancing technological innovations across industries.
