Introduction.
Innovative combination of UV and ozone for water treatment
We are helping out a Finnish company in this reference project. They started their business in 1985 and now have a large worldwide sales network. By producing high-quality silicon wafers, they supply businesses all around the world with manufacturing material for sensors, semiconductors and analog circuits.
The problem.
As large water quantities are used in their production processes, the client’s need to find a better treatment solution for their effluent has become more and more pressing, especially due to tighter environmental regulations.
To get help with their situation, the company contacted us at Mellifiq in order to receive an efficient treatment solution!
The solution.
For the initial treatment step, our client went for a Ozonetech RENA Vivo system.
Our RENA Vivo systems can be used in a variety of different water applications in e.g. water treatment plants, bottling plants or in industrial contexts. It efficiently treats water through advanced ozonation technology, where high concentrations of ozone are mixed with the water in order to purify it. The ozone is produced on-site by the system using ambient air as raw material, and after the treatment process, the ozone is decomposed into harmless oxygen.
The Vivo systems are outfitted with security sensors that shut down the system in case anything abnormal happens. The systems are also outfitted with a degassing mechanism and an ozone destructor that both take care of any leftover ozone.
As a final polishing step, the company also decided to install our UV reactor, the Ozonetech UVFlex.
