Introduction.
Mekong Delta gets cleaner aquaculture water
Our client in this project is a Vietnamese aquaculture farm specializing in farming catfish.
They are ambitious when it comes to making their operations as environmentally friendly as possible; they only want to use the purest water in their processes.
The problem.
Besides the company ambitions of improving their operations from an environmental point of view, our client had also struggled with several problems related to unclean production water. Since the water was not pure enough, the catfish were vulnerable to infections. To treat infections, our client had buy and stock expensive antibiotics and despite these efforts, a significant amount of the catfish still died.
Our client reached out to us at Mellifiq for help, and we were happy to help them!
The solution.
We at Mellifiq successfully delivered five Ozonetech ICT ozone generator systems to our client located right by the Vietnamese Mekong Delta.
The Ozonetech ICT ozone generators are incredibly efficient, and produce highly concentrated ozone. They have a very compact design, preventing any potential space problems, and are fitted with a built-in LED alarm and alarm relay that constantly monitor the systems.
The ozone generators make sure that our client has clean and sanitized water that can be used in their RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture System).
Evaluation.
Studies conducted by Mellifiq in cooperation with other fish farms show clear positive effects of using ozone as a treatment solution in aquaculture, which was also true for this client.
By calculating the right amount of ozone dosage per kilogram of feed and using our ozone generatos, we have managed to the reduce the mortality rate of the by catfish by over 13%!
