Innovative granular material reduces Opex for biogas production
Introduction.
Falkenberg is a municipality located on the Swedish west coast. In this city, manure, food and organic waste are collected in the local biogas plant, producing fertilizers and renewable energy. The biogas plant produces 36 GWh per year, the equivalent of 4.1 million liters of oil. One of the key steps in any biogas plant is desulfurization. The plan manager was still using traditional stages based on sub-optimal activated carbons with high operational costs. He then decided to opt for our OCM-Sulfcat, a premium material with an optimized impregnation, minimizing the operational costs while keeping the same performance. Thanks to Mellifiq, the biogas production is now more efficient, with benefits for the plant owner and the community.
