Mellifiq Awarded Contract for Treating PFAS at Arlanda Airport
Mellifiq is proud to announce that we have been awarded another significant project by Swedavia to deliver, install, and operate a water treatment system aimed at reducing PFAS concentrations at Arlanda Airport.
The new facility will serve as a supplementary treatment stage to the existing treatment plant, which already incorporates processes such as chemical precipitation, flocculation, lamella sedimentation, and sand filtration. Our task is to further enhance these processes with an advanced PFAS treatment system designed for the removal of PFAS11 compounds.
The system will treat water from diverse sources, including hangars, workshops, vehicle wash stations, and runoff from firefighting training areas. It is designed to handle an estimated total volume of 20,000 m³ per year, with a consistent flow rate of 6.5–7 m³/h and intermittent peaks of up to 10 m³/h during maintenance activities. By implementing Mellifiq’s engineering excellence, we will demonstrate our capability to meet high standards of efficiency and operational reliability, further strengthening our position as leaders in water treatment technology.
We are thankful to Swedavia for their trust and look forward to a close and long-term partnership.
